눈과 진흙
2018-2020
I often leave broken things as they are, without fixing them—just to see what happens.
What follows is a year of seasons I recorded with a malfunctioning Minox camera.
Scenes like echoes of everything that has passed.
People dissolve and flow within the landscape, and the light stacks up in layers.
I kept wondering what kind of strange magic this was,
until I stumbled upon the words Jonas Mekas once cast into a deep winter landscape:
"Snow and mud."
Children gathered snow to build snowmen and smeared the ground with mud.
Snow and mud—substances that could transform into anything we wished.
